Oh hi there
Allow me to introduce myself
I'm Josh. I enjoy long walks alone in remote places at sunrise, fresh baked bread with honey, and creating beautiful concepts with interesting people. When not taking photos of things. places, and people, I can be found drinking coffee, craft beer, or the sights sounds and smells of wherever I am in.
I kicked off my saga with photo work back in high school, meeting up with friends to do (laughable in retrospect) senior portraits and little sessions here and there. In college at University of South Carolina, I expanded to editorial and high fashion work with Garnet & Black Magazine, where I rose from a principal photographer to the Photo Director (in charge of major stories, assignment, editing, and creative direction). Working with the many incredible people at G&B is the reason that I know much of what I know today, both in photo and photo manipulation, since I was preparing a BS in Chemistry at the time and had no other avenue to gain insight into the industry.
My biggest current influences are Alex Strohl, Alexander Sattler, Hunter S. Thompson, Ben Sasso, and Dean Martindale. The first four have an unparalleled penchant for storytelling (something I hope to be able to match someday), and Dean/Ben are frankly just stylistic monoliths to me.
